Lindsay Lohan - Time For a Wake-Up Call

Can I just say I am over the whole Lindsay Lohan thing? I mean, I don't think I could possibly stomach any more of her. She's a talented young actress and all, but at some point she needs to get over herself and learn that even young celebrities have boundaries.

My newspaper gossip page carried the news this morning that Lindsay has been arrested again for drunk driving as well as having cocaine in her system. Again? Didn't she just get out of rehab for the 2nd time? Wasn't sure wearing some sort of bracelet so that she couldn't drink?

The answer to all is yes. If Lindsay still can't figure out how not to get in trouble with the law, even though she's talented and beautiful, and has a successful career, she needs to pay. Perhaps this is the only way she'll learn she isn't above everything. She needs to pay with time, time away from her career. She need sot go to jail for a certain amount of time where she has to wonder all day long if she has just screwed up so bad that her fans won't be waiting for her when she gets out.

Sure, like most young kids, Lindsay thinks she's above rules and laws. Yet, she then needs to be treated like all the other kids out there. She needs to go to jail for multiple offenses. Do we need to wait until she actually kills someone while she's out driving drunk yet again? I'm sitting here trying to teach my own kids responsibility and boundaries, and all the while there's a beautiful young star showing them that she doesn't have boundaries and doesn't need to act responsibly.

The news carried the additional information that Lindsay has entered rehab now for her third time. Great. What's it going to do for her this time? At some point, Lindsay needs to find out that if you do rehab repeatedly, it's not working. She can go to rehab 20 times, and she won't learn any more. It's not that she doesn't know she's not supposed to drink. She knows that by now. For whatever reason, she's still doing it.

The other thing that always gets to me with stars getting arrested for drunk driving is they don't have to drive. They all have the money and resources to hire limos to drive them around if they want to go out and drink and have a good time. Why do they do this anyway. Even if she wasn't planning on drinking, but did anyway, once she's already had a few drinks, would it be so bad for her to call her assistant or publicist or whatever and ask for them to arrange a ride home for her?

There's an underlying reason for this all, I'm sure, but regardless, she's breaking the law ... repeatedly, and putting herself and others at risk every time she drives drunk. If she's already been to rehab, she obviously is cognizant in some ways that it's not okay, but to have so many relapses, it seems like she either believes she's above all of that, or that she just doesn't care. Rehab just isn't going to work anymore.
